Yellow Belts and The Championship

This has turned out to be the week of accomplishments for our family :) Scott, Madisen and I tested for our yellow belts in karate on Saturday. (Dalton and Makenah will test the first part of August) It was very intimidating to stand up in front of our Shihan all alone on the Dojo floor. We were drilled on some vocabulary, stances, kicks, a kata, and a floor routine pronounced key-on-ton-day. There were 10 people testing for various belts, most were for yellow though. So, tonight we started our class with our belt ceremony. All 3 of us received our yellow belt :) YEAH!! I did learn a few things tonight besides some new moves. Did you know that if you reach any other color of belt than black, then you quit, you have to start all over again. Once you reach your black belt, you will ALWAYS be a black belt. Makenah told me that you had to register yourself as a legal lethal weapon. Hmmmm. That kind of sounds like a fun challenge to me. The other accomplishment is that Dalton's baseball team made number 1 in the league, ending the season 7 and 2 (won 7, lost 2). They will be playing in the Chapionship game tomorrow night. Not only will his team play the final game, but they will be playing against a couple of Dalton's bragging buddies. Just a little FYI, Dalton had his best game thus far last night. He made a good hit, got a run, played first base and got a kid out. They won the game :). I'll let you know how he does tomorrow night, can't wait!!
