Eight is GREAT!!
Dalton will turn eight on April 6th, so we gave him an early party. Monday I will start Spring quarter, so I decided last minute to turn his movie day into a birthday party too. How very smart of me huh? Yesturday, I had a lot of fun being the chef, party planner, photographer, and the only grown-up here with 9 out-of-control children. Actually, it really was fun and I didn't even need a Tylenol when they left. The kids were here for about 3 hours and had a great time. We set up the unfinished basement with a large TV area. I went and bought a king-sized cushie blanket (65% off at Kohls) to put on the concrete. Then I put a large area rug on top (the blanket helps to keep the warmth and the rug keeps the blanket in place). I went to Target and bought some bean bags and some game rockers. I set up Dalton's nerf dart board, threw down about 25 balloons, set up a big table with popcorn, candy and assorted snacks, did one of those "on-demand" movies (The Game Plan), and we were set to go. Of course the basement area is now T.R.A.S.H.E.D, and Dalton has some cleaning up to do. Madisen has a movie night tonight, so hopefully they can keep it much cleaner then a bunch of 8-year-olds. Oh, and BTW, don't expect three posts in less than a 24-hour period again for a long time. I just have to get it all in before Monday. :) I'm glad Dalton had such a fun afternoon. He even got up this morning, sat on my lap, and thanked me again because his party was so fun. A pat on the back for me, I take them when I can get them!
