NO TOUCHIE...

When Madisen was little, she used to go around with her little Karate chop hands positioned and for fun yell, "NO TOUCHIE". Anyway, we all officially have the outfits to go with Madisen's little saying. We looked in to Karate lessons about 4 years ago while in Minnesota, but had never taken the time and just got side tracked with moves and life. I have been taking this adolescent psyc class and have been learning so many things! One is that it is important for teens to have a physical activity that will help their coordination. In addition to body coordination, physical activity helps with brian function and processing. It provides self-discipline, self-esteem, coordination, regulates the dopamine (sp?) levels and helps them sleep. In addition to these benefits, Karate teaches respect and personal safety. Dalton has been having a few issues with anxiety, so we are hoping that Karate will help in this area as well. We have been at it now for almost 2 months and so far, so good. So good that we all have earned our first and second stripes, yes Scott and myself included. On Monday nights there is a family class that we take and it is so fun, we all look forward to it. Makenah is a natural and our Shihan makes comments on my form because of my background in dance, specifically ballet. And can I just add there is something exhilerating about sparring on the floor with your husband :) Too fun!! Makenah getting her first stripe Dalton getting his first stripe Madisen getting her first stripe Take that! And that!! Chuck Norris better crawl in a hole and hide!

That looks like such a cool thing to do as a family. Also, you're home will be well protected in case of intruders. Watch out!
