Flea Market, Fun & Family!
This last weekend was spent hanging out playing "we" (as in our family). Friday evening we went to the Wolff Planetarium in downtown Cincinnati. We reserved our seats at the beginning of the month because seating is limited to only 20 people. It was no high-tech performance as this planetarium was built in the 50's. We still had a good time listening to the stories of the constellations. After the show, we walked by a park that had an interesting slide. Made out of concrete, this slide was fun, but it sure burned your hinny coming down. I think the bigger your hinny, the more it burned, as the kids didn't seem to mind. We headed home and had root beer floats.
Saturday, Scott and I headed to what we thought was going to be a nice farmers market, but ended up being a flea market with a few vendors offering produce at prices the same as the store. We saw some fun, interesting things, had a bite to eat, and just enjoyed the morning/early afternoon together. We didn't get pictures of the two of us because I was too nervous to hand over my camera to anyone there.
Can I interest you in some vegetable figures that never mold (they sit real still)
How about a new (or slightly used) fishing pole?
She was a temptation!
So was this little tea set...
In the end, we only ended up buying some tissue packs, dice and playing cards for our 72-hour emergency kits that I am putting together myself.
Saturday evening, Dalton had his baseball party. It was hosted in the backyard of one of the coaches. They had a big blow up jumper for the kids, a ton of food, and a great video of the baseball season.
Sunday, we headed to church and came home to a feast of pb&j sandwiches and whatever else we could find in the fridge. Scott used some of the leftovers to make a stir-fry and, of course, it turned out delish. After I took a nap, we headed to the pool to meet up with our neighbors, Jared and Patty. Just a little FYI about Jared and Patty. Sometimes I joke about living in a "Wisteria Lane" type of neighborhood, because everyone knows what is going on with everyone else. Jared and Patty are good people. Patty has come to our rescue many times and I know I can count on her if we needed ANYTHING. So Patty (and Jared), if you read this, thank you!! You are life savers and there should be more neighbors/friends like you in every neighborhood. Dalton has become VERY good friends with their daughter, who is also going into 3rd grade. They spend a lot of waking moments together -talking, and talking, and talking -cause that's what they do. Sometimes they even manage to listen to each other through their talking. I guess they have to take a breath once in a while. Oh, they also play video game and watch t.v. too. Did I tell you they almost look like twins, except Dalton is much bigger. Okay, so I guess I just went on a few tangints there. It's okay because this is MY blog and I'm allowed tangints if I so desire. The point is, we had a great time this weekend enjoying each others company.
Last night was spent washing and combing through hair again. Still no live critters, but I don't want to take ANY chances!! I'm washing 100 loads of laundry again this week, just to be on the safe side.

ok, where is that slide and where is the flea market??
sounds like a fun relaxing weekend. I'm glad Dalton has a little friend. :)
I love a good flea! Where is that slide?
The slide is right next to the Wolf planetarium in Cincinnati. I don't remember the name of the park. It's off of Ludlow Dr. though :)
You always find fun and clever things to do. Your comment kindof reminded me of the metal slides when we were kids that would burn the panties right off of you when you slid down them and it was hot outside. For some reason we would still get up and go for more no matter how hot it was.
