Where have I been:

It's a long story, but to answer your question as to my absence, I spent 4 nights in the hospital a few days before Christmas. For 3 weeks prior, I was in severe pain and was on pain meds every 3 1/2 to 4 hours, which impaired my ability to write, let alone to be awake enough to think without haze. It was a surprise gift from my body, a cyst the size of a softball on my left ovary, which had also attached itself to my intestine. The first doctor I was going to was happy to just keep me on pain meds for whatever reason, I'm still trying to wrap my finger around. I have a wonderful friend who recommended the best "girl" doctor EVER and in 3 hours was able to take care of what my doctor couldn't take care of in 3 weeks. It was endometriosis, and it ended with me having to have a full hysterectomy. I have started with hot flashes, and every other menopause symptom you can imagine. The doctor started me on hormone therapy- at least until my body heals and I can spend some time doing research on natural alternatives, and the pros/cons of synthetic hormone therapy. I have insomnia now, and my body seems to shake quite a bit, but this could be due to the major vicodin withdrawals I'm going through. Hopefully this will pass over the next few days. I can say this has NOT been a very good way to loose weight either. I am on my way to a full recovery and will try to update during the week. Thanks so much for your prayers, get well cards, beautiful flowers: basket arrangements: and not to mention all the meals brought in, and play dates set up for Dalton. I have been so blessed with wonderful family, friends and neighbors. I never made it out to send gifts, nor was I able to concentrate long enough to get Christmas cards ready. I do hope you all had a wonderful Christmas filled with love, peace and hope! God bless you and your family always, -A

You know I had a full hysterectomy in 8/07? I was on hormone therapy and it is the WORST thing I ever did to my body! We must talk! I suggest reading What you Dr. does not tell you about menopause by Dr. Lee and getting off of HRT and trying all natural. I am on Arbonne Phyto prolief cream and I have been 100% hotflash free since December 2007. Please call me or email me if you want to talk! I have been there done that and have the t-shirt! So glad you are on the mend!
