How I wish...

Even though it is still a bit chilly outside, I was reminded once again that spring is coming. I am a frequent visitor of the Pioneer Woman blog, and today I was checking out her "Home and Garden" posts. I was SO happy to see what she posted. "How to make raised beds for your vegetable garden". The neighborhood we live in is not very conducive to making such things. Not only do the yards slope like crazy, but there are no fences, we have wild bunnies all over, deer, moles, and other little critters that come out at night. So, even though I can't make a raised bed garden right now, someday I will. It is definitely on my list of "to do's". In this economy, I think it is a GREAT idea. Not only will it help your food budget, but growing a garden is mind and body friendly, it's a GREAT inexpensive family activity, and it's a fun science experiment for kids. So if you want to give it a try, here is the link.

You'll have to look into having a garden in pots. And the kids can take turns watering them. Or you can set up a simple drip system to water them all. If you buy decorative pots, it would look nice as well. :)
