Angela is 39! (wait, what?)
I told you I have a lot of catch up to do! Be ready! My birthday was November 26th, well, and it still is. Do you know that for my whole growing up life I thought my birthday was ON Thanksgiving Day. The reason I thought this was that my mom would tell me that I was a "turkey baby". I guess I just assumed. One day, I had to do a research paper (shortly after Scott and I got married) to find out about what happened on my birthday. This was before Internet, when you had to go to the local library and look up such things on microfiche. Look it up. It's a real word I swear. Anyway, come to find out that I was NOT born ON Thanksgiving Day, but the day after. So this year, I celebrated the day before. It was hard to concentrate because I really wasn't feeling well, but it was still a fun evening of surprise. I figured something was up when Scott began making crab dip one on Tuesday evening, the day before my birthday. I was putting a large Scentsy order together and I heard him in the kitchen. I went in to see what all the clatter was. Earlier in the day I had been looking for something in the garage man fridge. I noticed the Sherbet, a very large tub. Dalton had asked me if he could have some of that 7-Up that was in that same garage man fridge. When I saw 4 or 5 bottles of 7-Up and the sherbet, I knew there was going to be some sort of party going on. Anyway, so I went in the kitchen and trying not to give my knowledge away, I said to Scott, "Oh Cool! Crab dip for Thanksgiving. It's kind of soon though don't you think?" So the evening of my birthday, he takes me out to Kohl's to find some pants (I needed a new pair!), then to Kroger for a bit of grocery shopping. He looked at his watch a few times, before coming home. When we pulled into the driveway, I see a shadow down the road of our friends walking up across our grass. Hmmmmm. So when we walked in to the house, the kids had done their best to make it a surprise with Scott. We had a fun night of cards, food, and conversation. Next year, my birthday will most likely involve the Wii so you all better brush up on your skills this year!
Me and my cake, YUM! Also, Madisen, Dalton, my friend Lisa, Makenah, and my friend Cari.
Friends and food!
Let's get the card games going!
Do you recognize this little guy from here and here? (He is with his mom, my friend Carrie) Carrie and I joked around about how we should have the kids come over for Thanksgiving as well. Then they would really start looking like they were part of our family ;) Madisen and Dalton do love having their younger "siblings" over.
This is Scott's buddy, Mike. You wouldn't know it by the look on Mike's face, but when the two of them are together, if you have "pee" issues when you laugh, you better wear a pad. They are SOOO funny together. Our bishop thought it would be a good idea to have them speak in church on the same Sunday. It was a spiritually fun meeting. One of the best meetings I have attended in a while.
Scott's crab dip. The BEST!
Here's to 39!! Next year will be BIG!
